Having someone say “how do you keep so skinny?”
My kids both telling my they love me out of the blue
Sangria with lots of fruit

Breaking a finger nail (once you break one, the rest want to follow)
That my hubby hates his current job
Driving my weenie mobile (even though it is very fuel efficient)
All the photos that I have seen of Posh...she never smiles...not even the photos of her on her birthday! Does she have really bad teeth of something? She is a really attractive woman - so why doesn't she smile? If you have a photo of Posh smiling...let me see...let me see.
"WE ARE MADE TO persist. THAT'S HOW WE FIND OUT WHO WE are."

I received an email today with a super hot special on flying for Houston to Belize for $149 (round trip) or 15,000 frequent flyer miles. So, really all we would need to pay for was the hotel. This is the question I pose, is it worth going for just the weekend? It is kid friendly in Belize (remember 17 year old & 2 year old). I really need to get out of this funk and do something spontaneous and fun - just like the old days.....what to do - what to do. Oh and then hubby has to find his passport!!
I stubbled on Vox by accident, just looking for some answers. The first person's profile I found was ♥Voxy Lady M♥ and then IrishLuckyLass. I have found both these people to be sincere, real, and a pleasure to "blog" with. I just want to say thank you.
I can recall my mother reciting this poem to me when I was younger. My mother was well read and well versed, and she could recite poems and quotes from anything, anything she felt inspired by. I have always remembered this poem, in rememberance. In Australia growing up...and still now - we always paid our respects to the soldiers that fought our wars - on the 11 hour of the 11 day of the 11 month we held rememberance and the whole country stopped for 1 minutes silence for Armistice Day or Veterans Day - to signify the end of WW1 in 1918 and those soldiers that lost their lives - and everyone wore a red poppy, which could be purchased before and on the day and the proceeds went to the Veterans. Anyway, this poem is very important to me, so I thought I would share. I was actually inspired by whippetmom red poppy photo on her blog.
In Flanders Fields
by John McCrae, May 1915
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep,
though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Why do we feel blue? What color does a smurf feel when they are down?
I think everyone has a time of occasionally feeling down or blue. It may be clinical depression or just low energy blueness. It doesn’t matter how often or what is causing it, whether you are medicated or not. It’s time to lift ourselves out of the pit and try to remedy the problem.
We need to appreciate the good things we have – call a friend that inspires you, think of past events that make you smile. The security guard that smiles and says “good morning” when you walk into your office building. Oh and appreciate you and what you have accomplished in life.
Do away with the negative things that clutter your life. Keep negative people/entities are arms length…you don’t have to listen to the negative hurtful things they try to impose on you.
If it’s a warm sunny day….take a walk, look out the window, open the curtains for a warm view.
Divert your attention when you find yourself in the downward spiral of negative self talk, do something startling such as splashing cold water in your face or give yourself a pinch and tell yourself NO BAD THOUGHTS. Go to the gym and let it all go! Maybe go to the garden and take long, hard, heavy steps – be a little silly, silly enough to make yourself giggle J - put on your favorite song, turn up the volume and dance your pants off!
If you feel you mood changing to grumpy and down right depressed – maybe it was caused by something that happened earlier – make sure you are heard and get your point across – don’t be left feeling unsettled or annoyed by something that happened. If it annoyed or hurt you – let it be known, then walk away – it’s not an easy thing to do sometimes…..just make sure you are tactful in your efforts.
Challenge Negative Thoughts
If you have an Inner Critic that is giving you grief, start making a list of all the things this critic says about you. Then look at each statement and ask these questions:
• Is this true?
• How do I know it is true?
• How do I act because I believe this is true?
• How would I act if I didn't believe this was true?
Friendship – if you have someone that you can confide in, that you know will be there no matter what, support your every mood – have a discussion with them, go out to lunch/dinner/drinks – do something fun – something you haven’t done in forever…something unexpected that makes you excited at the mere thought – run in the park like you are a 2 year old….no cares, no worries – just fun, fun, fun – I guarantee it will work. Oh and if you are worried about what other people think…look around you…do you know any of the people in the park…do you think you will see them again – chances are 1 in a million --- my philosophy…be silly….they don’t know you either!!
We are all responsible for our own happiness, you are the only person who knows how to satisfy yourself. And usually YOU are pretty good at deciding what you need!! Live. Love. Be Happy. Dance like no-one is watching – and give a little “Woo Hoo for me”. J
on OMG - Posh does smile - and she doesn't have yucky teeth!
